How to style an Oversize Crop Top: 5 Summer Looks
An oversize crop top is perhaps the most honest garment in summer: light, airy, and effortlessly chic. But precisely for this reason, we often hear the same question – how do I style it correctly?
The good news: it's much easier than you think. Here are five looks that always work.
Why oversize at all?
A classic crop top fits snugly. An oversize crop top does the opposite: it hangs loosely, lets air reach the skin, and thus appears relaxed instead of trying too hard. The cut ends a little higher, the shoulders are wider – this small difference changes the entire look.
The trick to styling it is therefore always the same: loose on top, high on the bottom.
With High-Waist Jeans
The classic, and for good reason. High-waisted jeans meet the top exactly where it ends. Nothing peeks out, the silhouette remains calm, and you show as much skin as you want.
For the evening: dark denim, white sneakers, gold earrings. Done.
With Wide Linen Trousers
Our favorite look for hot days. Linen in cream, beige, or sand takes all the heaviness out of the outfit and perfectly matches the Mediterranean colors of our prints. This is the look you see at every second cafe table in Palermo – and it works just as well by the sea in the evening as it does in the city at midday.
Over a Bikini
At the beach, it can be uncomplicated. Crop top over your bikini top, shorts or a skirt – and you can go straight from the water to the beach bar without changing. Look for soft cotton: it dries quickly and won't scratch salty skin.
With Leggings
Comfortable, but not sloppy. Black leggings make the crop top suitable for everyday wear – for a walk, the weekly market, or a long travel day.
If you like, tie a shirt around your waist. This breaks the line and immediately looks more casual.
Layering for Cool Evenings
Sicilian evenings can get cool. An oversize hoodie or a light sweatshirt over the crop top is the simplest solution – and visually interesting because two loose cuts layer on top of each other.
Tip: Wear the hoodie open or draped loosely over your shoulders so the print remains visible.
A Word on Care
To keep the print and shape beautiful for a long time:
- Wash at 30 degrees, inside out
- Do not use fabric softener
- Air dry instead of tumble dry
- Do not iron directly over the print
This way, the cotton stays soft and the colors vibrant – even after many summers.
